What The Trees Told Me

“You are meant for more, do not give up on your life because it has been difficult. Let us tell you a story that humanity is all but too blind to see, yet does not yet know how to perceive. The trees have been disconnected from one another, much like humans have been ripped apart from their roots, their ancient practices and sacred cultures that once connected them to everything you see and that which you cannot until you open your heart. You have all been taught that you can not speak to us, that we are nothing more than inanimate organic material to build with, profit from, and use to your benefit even if it leads to our extinction and the extinction of those we care for, and while we are meant to be a resource, that is only part of our existence and the balance within that dynamic is gone. The other half of our purpose is lived in the silence, in the wind you feel, in the shade and shelter we provide, in the network of information and sacred knowledge we bear, and when you learn to silence the external, you can feel that purpose. Our roots reach out to yours, and you will begin to remember that you can speak to us and we to you. You are more than you know and your purpose is far greater than you can even imagine. Teach the young trees that they too can speak to us, for knowledge must be returned to the land before it can be returned to its people. We love you, we always have, we called to you and here you are. At this exact moment in time — listening. We will continue to be here for you as we always have been, and when you are ready, the path will appear in front of you.”
